Option c) indefinite when the welder works for an organisation under ISO 3834 and the conditions are met (check which option your certificate states).

Next confirmation = last weld/confirmation date + 6 months · Revalidation = qualification date + 2 years (b) or + 3 years (a)

Approximate; check the conditions on your certificate. Continuity is confirmed when the employer or welding coordinator signs, at intervals not exceeding 6 months, that the welder has worked within the qualified range; the Welding module of the app reminds you of these dates.

For information only; the certificate, the specification and the certification body govern. The final assessment rests with the responsible welding coordinator.

What is the 6-monthly continuity confirmation?Under ISO 9606-1 the employer or welding coordinator confirms at intervals not exceeding 6 months that the welder has worked within the scope of the qualification, and this is recorded on the certificate. A break longer than 6 months invalidates the certificate.
What are the revalidation options?ISO 9606-1 offers three routes: a retest every 3 years; every 2 years with two production welds from the last 6 months tested; or indefinite validity when the welder works for an organisation under ISO 3834 and the conditions are met. The route used is stated on the certificate.
When does an ASME IX qualification expire? There is no fixed date. The qualification lapses when the welder has not welded with the process for more than 6 months; any production weld with the same process renews the period. A retest may also be required when there is a specific reason to question the welder's ability.
How do I keep track of these dates?Spreadsheets get hard to manage as the number of welders grows. The Welding module of the app stores the certificate dates for each welder, reminds you when the 6-monthly confirmation and the revalidation date approach, and gives a list for your audit file.
